One of the first questions we ask when meeting someone for the
first time is: "What do you do?" or
"Where do you work?" Our jobs have
become a large part of our identity. Interestingly enough, many of us work at
jobs we don't really like. Some of us stay at the job
because we have so much time invested we feel boxed in or trapped. Or maybe we don't
have the energy or confidence to change jobs. Some stay at the job only
for the benefits.
“Living at YES!” defines work as
"how we create in the world." If you
are working at a job that is not creating what is in your heart, you are
investing a lot of energy into something that is not giving you any rewards
on your investment. Would you ever consider investing your money in something
that used up your principal (hence, your principles) without paying you any
interest? Absolutely not! Yet when we are out of touch with our heart's desire
or passion, or when we lack the confidence necessary to believe in ourselves, we are
doing just that. Our energy and creativity are being drained from us
without any replenishment. At the end of our lives, we find ourselves
unfulfilled and depleted.
You were probably taught that is it impossible to work at a vocation
you love and be able to earn all the money you desire, while having fun
at the same time! What a concept! When you free yourself to create
your heart's desire you'll never work another day in your life! The goal when
you “Live at YES” is to turn your passion into your profession!
