"Sharon Walks her Talk and Takes Others Along"

You can't help but be inspired when you talk to Reverend Colleen Haney. Even via telephone interview at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, her peaceful disposition, quiet inner confidence and intuitive sense is apparent. Yet she also has a personality that sparkles- and you know when you're talking to her she's smiling, even though you can't see it. Rev. Colleen Haney, M.Ed., CCC/SLP, CHTP, EEMP, has spent years developing her talents and gifts as a clinician, administrator and teacher. She is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, a Brennan Healing Science Practitioner, Jin Shin Tara Practitioner, Brain Gym and Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner. She also serves as a therapist for Touch for Health and Body Talk Therapies.

Colleen began her career over 35 years ago as a Speech Language Pathologist. Always a spiritual seeker and mystic, she decided to expand her journey to become an Energy Therapist and created her private practice 10 years ago. Most recently, she has become an Alliance of Divine Love ordained Minister and wedding officiant. "I enjoy being an integral part of bringing two people together in joy and love. It's awe-inspiring!" states Colleen.

Deeply committed to her energy healing work as well, Colleen recently presented three papers at the National Conference of Speech Pathologists on the topics of Energy Medicine: Tools for our practice; Refresh and Revitalize: Energy Medicine Exercises for Busy Therapists; and The Sacredness of Our work as Clinicians. "The critical difference between Energy Medicine and conventional medicine is that conventional medicine diagnoses and treats symptoms and diseases while Energy Medicine assesses and corrects disturbances in the body's energies and energy fields. Energy Medicine goes to the core energy communication system of the person, the underlying cause of disease and discomfort - the breakdown of vital information that needs to be communicated to your mind, body and spirit. Being able to present these topics to this very medical and scientific group was a huge step forward!"

Colleen was born in Southwestern PA and migrated all over the globe to settle for over 10+ years in the Harrisburg area. It is here where she began to expand her career into energy healing. "I had experienced an Energy Healer in Harrisburg was fascinated that there was so much more to everything! I also believed I was a mystic from a very early age. That, combined with my deep spiritual nature led me to enroll in Barbara Brennan's School of Healing and from there I was deeply committed to Energy Work and sharing it with others. Among the many techniques I use are Energy Medicine modalities. Energy Medicine (EM) predates Western medicine. "Energy medicine" has been used in various cultures across the world for centuries to enhance a person's physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The National Institutes of Health recognizes energy medicine as one of five basic categories of "Complementary & Alternative Medicine" in use today."

Colleen first met Sharon Marquart at Unity Church, where Sharon was serving as the interim minister. Shortly after meeting her, she joined one of Sharon's many classes and a weekly women's group. "I had been searching for a women's group to participate in and the fit was perfect! Sharon offered a wealth of knowledge and her spiritual gifts are apparent in everything she does. Her women's groups were the highlight of my week for several years." As her business flourished, Sharon became a valuable resource to Colleen. "Sharon saw my talents and gifts and she started to refer women to me for Energy Therapy and was instrumental in helping me develop my practice in Pennsylvania. When I moved to Florida, she coached me through developing my wedding ministry. Sharon is a role model for me; she walks her talk and takes others along. She is a very wise and gifted woman, healer and spiritual guide. I would trust Sharon with my life!"

Colleen finds a deep sense of reward in helping others discover a deeper sense of self and well being through her energy work. "Seeing people change and grow in depth before my very eyes is what inspires me to develop my Energy Therapy Practice. Plus, how wonderful is it that I get to sit in beauty and peace all day! I have a beautiful office with beautiful, sacred things and I get to share this beauty and sacredness with my clients! I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my life!"

Sharon and Colleen continue to correspond on a regular basis. "I find Sharon's advice so valuable that I can't imagine not having her connected to me in some way. Every time I have talked with Sharon, she has helped me see things I have missed myself and helped me view things differently. Every time I speak with her, even if it is a social call to just catch up on each other's life, it is a gift of wisdom and grace. Sharon is one of the biggest blessings in my life and I treasure our relationship that has developed over the years. Sharon has the power and talent to help anyone. Most of the time, she has already done it herself, so what she is sharing is tried and true advice!"

As for Colleen's future plans and intentions, it's no surprise they are in abundance. "I have intentions to increase my work through phone sessions and by doing more radio shows which have the opportunity to reach a greater audience. Additionally, after four years of serving individual clients, I am moving into the community to teach classes. I would also eventually like to write some books for children and parents about energy and your body. One of my Teachers, Donna Eden, suggests that with the speed that life is moving and the demands on us to handle change, we all need "energy medicine tools" to help us travel safely and with health through life! I also have a huge intention of speaking at the National American Speech, Language and Hearing Conference and sharing this information with speech and language pathologists and audiologists. I have already spoken at the Florida Association and I was so pleased to see so many therapists interested in Energy. After all ...Everything is energy!"
